For Great Loop use, the dominant concern is air draft: the 450's arch is notably taller than its 530 sibling and may need to be physically lowered (not just cleared of electronics) to pass the controlling fixed bridge, and brokerage air-draft figures conflict wildly. Engine condition is heavily influenced by factory over-propping and the "lightly powered" reputation, so prop and loading history matter more than the engine badge. Fuel-burn data specific to this hull is thin, so trawler-speed range should be confirmed from the actual boat's logs or flow meters. Carver Yachts permanently ceased production on July 30, 2021; its Pulaski, WI plant was sold to Cruisers Yachts (KCS International), which was itself acquired by MarineMax weeks later. Carver stopped building boats on 30 July 2021 and no longer operates as a going concern. It's a brokerage/used-market brand only. Brokerage figures conflict badly (one 2000 listing states 16'8", a European PDF states 19'11"), likely due to different measuring conventions (top of hardtop vs. top of arch/electronics). Do not trust listing numbers. What is this hull's actual gph at Loop speeds per its logs or flow meters? No dedicated fuel-burn table for the 450 Voyager was found in owner posts. Comparable single-6CTA-450 boats (a lighter 38-footer) showed ~1.8 gph at 7.7 kt and ~11 gph at 20 kt, but at ~40,000 lb the 450 Voyager will burn MORE at trawler speed.
