← Can I Loop?
RECEIPTS

Every line should show you where it came from. Here's how many do.

Every line on a Can I Loop? boat page ends with its source. When that source is a link, it opens the owner's post, the review or the listing we took it from, so you can read it yourself. This page counts how many lines can do that today, and lists every time a source showed us we were wrong.

312 of 573

lines on our 84 public boat pages link straight to their source (54%).

The rest name their source in words. We're linking them one at a time, and this number climbs as we go. Counting the members-only engine notes too, it's 519 of 933.

Where the links go

Where we were wrong

Putting a link next to a line is also how we check it. When the source says something different, we fix the boat page and record it here with the date. 9 so far, every one of them caught by the linking.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Fuel burn at cruise

Carver 445

We saidOwners report roughly 16 gph at about 18 knots.
The source saysThe only owner figure in the thread is 33 gph at 18 knots, on a 440 with 450 hp Cummins.
What we changed16 is half of 33, so it was most likely one engine's burn shown as the whole boat's. The line now says 33 gph and links the post.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · How many were built

Hans Christian Independence 45

We saidAbout 18 were built in Taiwan, and the Cherubini run started at hull #19.
The source saysThe one count we can find comes from an owner of a Cherubini sistership, going by what they had read: 19 boats. We found no source for 18 or for hull #19.
What we changedNow about 19, credited to that owner. The hull number is gone.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Engine room access

Grand Banks 36 Classic

We saidEngine access is tight, twins make the engine room overcrowded, and pulling an engine is difficult.
The source saysNeither owner thread says that. Single-engine owners say they like the extra room, and one member found room for two people between a friend's twin engines.
What we changedRewritten to what owners actually said, with a link to the thread.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Hull type

Grand Banks 36 Classic

We saidA full-displacement trawler.
The source saysDenison's review describes a semi-displacement hull with a flattened aft section. Owners still cruise it at displacement speed.
What we changedFixed in the line, the summary and the verdict.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · What failed the pressure test

Hatteras 48' LRC

We saidOne owner's engine refresh turned up cracked heads.
The source saysThe owner's thread says a heat exchanger failed the pressure test, and both heat exchangers were replaced.
What we changedThe question now asks about the cooling system and the heat exchangers.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Construction changes

Kadey-Krogen Manatee

We saidThe builder's FAQ records changes around hull #66 in 1984 and a move to solid glass below the waterline in the early 1990s.
The source saysThose notes in the FAQ are about the Krogen 42. For the Manatee it says over 90 were built from 1984 to 1991, in two layouts.
What we changedReplaced with what the FAQ says about the Manatee.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Published bridge clearance

Navigator 50 Classic

We saidPublished clearances for the Classic family run about 16'9" to 18'.
The source saysThe PowerBoat Guide sheet gives 16'9" for the 5100 Pilothouse and 19'3" for the 44 Classic, and none for the other Classic models.
What we changedThe line now gives those figures model by model. 19'3" sits three inches under the Loop's 19'6" limit, so the difference matters.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · Engine access

Ranger Tug R-31

We saidEngine access is consistently described as restricted.
The source saysSoundings' review called access to the centerline engine excellent. Owners are split.
What we changedThe line now shows both sides.

Fixed 2026-09-30 · A source we hadn't read

Mainship 43 Trawler

We saidThe line cited a Power & Motoryacht boat test.
The source saysWe had never opened that test. The point of the line rests on the HMY guide and owner reports.
What we changedRemoved the citation we couldn't stand behind.
Think a line is wrong? Email support@caniloop.net with the boat and the line. If the source backs you up, we fix the page and it goes on this list.
See it for yourself on any page in the boat library. The small src tag at the end of each line is the link. Or run your own boat through the free gate check.

How we count. A line counts as linked when it names its source and that name is a link to the page it came from. Public lines are the ones anyone can read on a boat page. Engine notes are members-only, so they're counted separately. Every number on this page comes from the database when the page loads.
